Jacob Goes Home

After twenty years of working for Laban and being treated unfairly, Jacob followed God’s instruction to return to his homeland with his large family and many possessions. Though Laban initially pursued him, they made a peaceful agreement before God and parted ways. As Jacob approached home, he grew terrified of meeting his brother Esau, whom he had cheated years before, and prayed fervently for God’s protection. To his great relief, instead of attacking him, Esau ran to meet Jacob with a hug and a kiss, showing that he had forgiven his brother and restoring their relationship.
