There was once a young girl named Mary. She loved God and obeyed His commandments. God chose her for a special miracle. An angel came to Mary and told her she would have a baby. This baby would be God’s own Son. “You will call Him Jesus,” the angel said, “which means Savior.” Mary did not understand everything that was happening, but she said, “I am God’s servant. I will do whatever He wants.” Mary and Joseph had to go to Bethlehem. They needed a place to stay, but every hotel
was full. Because of this, they stayed in a stable where the animals lived. Jesus was born there. He was placed in a manger, which is the feed box for the animals. There were some shepherds on a nearby hill, watching their sheep. An angel spoke to them, telling them to go find the baby. They bowed and worshiped Jesus. In a faraway country, some wise men saw a new star in the sky and knew it meant a King had been born. King Herod wanted them to report back to him when they found Jesus. But an angel spoke to the wise men in a dream, warning them that King Herod wanted to kill Jesus. After they saw the baby, they went back home a different way.
